Site Flipping – Is There Too Much Competition?
One reason why I was hesitant to try site flipping was I thought there was too much competition out there in the website selling market and there would be no way that I could compete with all that competition. After all, when I looked at websites being sold, some of them weren’t even selling, so could it really be worth it?
If you go into Ebay.com and I use Ebay as my example here as I sell most of my websites on ebay, if you search the term ‘website’ you will probably get back over 6,000 results. In fact, let’s go do it…….

There we go, 6.984 results, almost 7,000 websites up for sale on Ebay. Now that really is a lot of competition, so if I were to list a website for sale why would a buyer choose my site over the other 6,983 websites that are listed for sale?
Well, one thing that I have learned is that thinking that way is the wrong way to think. If you think that there is too much competition and you could never be successful then you won’t be. If you think, well that’s a lot of competition but if some people can be successful then why can’t I, then you very well could be.
I’m a big believer in that the way you think has a big influence on your outcome. Think positively and believe that you can be successful, then there is a very good chance that you will be, because those that are successful are the one’s that believe they can be.
And I’ll tell you something else, I was probably one of the biggest sceptics and one of the least confident people you could meet and for me to be able to rise above that and believe in myself and to become very successful, now that’s saying something.
So, my point here is that don’t let the fact that there is a lot of competition out there stop you from giving site flipping a go. Competition is nothing, there is no reason why you cannot beat that competition and dominate your field.
If you are interested in site flipping, then go ahead and give it a go, don’t let competition stand in your way.

I’m pretty sure I am the one, or at least one of the first, guys to have done this on ebay.
Back in the dark ages of ebay I sold a few established script based sites (counter sites, auction sites etc) and in those days got $600-700 per sale. It financed a trip to China with my college at the time.
The only regret I have is I didn’t sell enough fast enough.
Soon enough, everyone saw the huge dollar amounts and copied the idea.
Alas that is how it works on Ebay.
